PURPOSE: A composition containing a Gossypii Semen extract as a main component is provided. It has excellent hair growing effects and is formulated into the shape of a liquid phase, spray, gel, paste, emulsion, cream, conditioner or shampoo. CONSTITUTION: Gossypii Semen is extracted in a mixed solvent selected from purified water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, propanol, butanol, methylethyl ketone, glycerol, ethylene glycerol, propylene glycerol, acetonitrile, 1,3-butylene glycol, ethyl acetate, dichloromethane, chloroform, hexane or ether. For an example, Gossypii Semen is ground to 20 meshes, 30g Gossypii Semen powder is extracted in 500ml acetone for 3 days, filtered, concentrated under reduced pressure and then dried to give 0.7g Gossypii Semen extract.
