<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the drawback that a complicated work for replenishing recording paper is sometime suddenly required in a conventional image reading and recording device, because the paper-out condition is only informed by a current copying action. <P>SOLUTION: This image reading and recording device, comprising an informing section 17, a scanner 4, and a printer 6, is provided with a means such as a document sheet counter 12, etc., for detecting a recording paper count required in the image recording, a remaining recording paper count detecting section 7 for detecting remaining paper count of the recording paper received in a recording paper receiving section, and a main control section 1 for operating the informing section 17 based on the detected required recording paper count and remaining recording paper count. The informing section 17 is operated by the main control section 1 when the remaining recording paper count is less than the required recording paper count and when the difference between the remaining recording paper count and the required recording paper count is less than a predetermined count. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
