PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at increasing a contact area of an electrode with a slender tube, and aim at stabilizing a discharge occurred in a slender tube by using the slender tube having a flat elliptical shaped cross section in a display tube, and by adhering a flexible sheet in which the electrode is formed to the flat face of this slender tube. SOLUTION: This is made to be the display unit provided with a slender display tube having the flat elliptic shaped cross section with the flat part, the flexible sheet of supporting the display tube abutting on the flat part of the display tube, a plurality of electrodes arranged at a counter face of the display tube of the flexible sheet, and an adhesive layer installed at the counter face of the display tube of the flexible sheet wherein the flexible sheet is made to be adhered to the flat part so that the electrode of the flexible sheet is made to be faced to that flat part of the display tube when the flexible sheet is abutted on the flat part of the display tube.
