摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system capable of detecting a communication fault caused by a deviated antenna direction due to the effect of an external factor and a communication fault caused by factors such as a status change in a communication block without incurring increase in the apparatus cost and properly countermeasuring the maintenance on the basis of a detected value. <P>SOLUTION: An IDU (indoor unit) 220 of a subscriber station 200 is provided with: a reception level measurement means 221-1 for individually measuring reception levels by each of two reception systems of diversity configuration; a BER (Bit Error Rate) measurement means 221-2 for measuring a bit error rate of a signal received from the two reception systems by each reception system; and a fault discrimination means 221-3 for discriminating the occurrence of a fault in the two reception systems on the basis of the information obtained by the reception level measurement means 221-1 and the BER measurement means 221-2 and informing a user about the fault of the reception system discriminated to have the fault. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
