PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably enhance the arc distinguishing capability of a ring varistor 3c in a small space by a simple constitution at low cost. SOLUTION: A flat electrode 3c2 and a circumferential electrode 3c3 are formed on the bottom face and the outer circumferential surface of the ring varistor 3c by an ordinary process with ease. When the ring varistor 3c is built into a motor, the flat electrode 3c2 and the circumferential electrode 3c3 are electrically connected through a commutator piece 3b2 with ease and reliability. Thus, the electrode area, that is, the capacity of the ring varistor 3c is significantly increased at low cost. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
