PURPOSE: A protective cover for use at the upper panel of a desk and a use method thereof are provided to prevent the damage of the desk thus enabling semi-permanent use of the desk, and to simplify its mounting relative to the desk. CONSTITUTION: The protective cover for use at an upper panel of a desk comprises a wide body plate(2) made of elastic synthetic resin or natural rubber material, side guides(3,3') integrally attached with the body plate so as to form an "L-shaped" portion inwardly bent from the body plate, the guides serving to allow the body plate to be fitted to the upper panel of the desk in a slidable manner, and a base member(4) having a rear support plate(7) formed by an inner incision line(8) of a specific shape.
