PURPOSE: A driving control device of a hydraulic pump for a hydraulic brake system and a control method thereof are provided to prevent stop of a hydraulic motor and minimize noise of the hydraulic pump by varying the duty rate of PWM(pulse width modulation) signals corresponding to pressure of an accumulator. CONSTITUTION: A driving control device of a hydraulic pump(22) supplying brake fluid to an accumulator(21) comprises a pressure sensor(23) detecting hydraulic pressure of a brake supplied to the accumulator; a target current decision unit deciding the target current supplied to the hydraulic motor based on the difference between the detected hydraulic pressure of the brake and the desired brake pressure; and a hydraulic motor control unit(28) driving the hydraulic motor for the target current in case of the brake pressure of the accumulator to be less than the desired brake pressure, and stopping the hydraulic motor in case of the brake pressure to be over the desired brake pressure.
