PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a drop of the output in the course of long-time power generation and suppress emission of toxic substances. SOLUTION: A direct liquid fuel type fuel cell power generating device according to the invention using methanol is equipped with an anode, a cathode, an electrolyte film pinched by the anode and the cathode, an anode passage to admit flowing of the fuel, a cathode passage to admit flowing of an oxidant, a fuel accommodating vessel connected with the supply hole of the anode passage, and a cathode collecting vessel connected with the exhaust hole of the cathode passage and collecting the fuel supplied to the electromotive part, an unreacted oxidant, and cell reaction products, wherein the arrangement further includes at least a mechanism to put the substances emitted from the cathode exhaust hole in contact with the water existing in the cathode collecting vessel to conduct the gas-liquid contacting and a mechanism to send the water solution collected to the cathode collecting vessel to the fuel accommodating vessel.
