METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EVALUATING QUALITY OF RECEIVED DATA IN DATA DISTRIBUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for evaluating quality of received data on the basis of contents of distributed data in data distribution on a communication line having the possibility of including errors.

SOLUTION: A data distribution system comprising a distribution server and reception clients calculates feature quantity data indicative of characteristics of distribution data stored on a distribution server. When the distribution server distributes data to the reception clients, the server distributes data and feature quantity data of the data to the clients. Each reception client calculates the feature quantity data from the received data by using the same method as that of the server and compares the data with the feature quantity data sent from the server. Comparing the feature quantity data items can evaluate a degree of the similarity on the basis of contents of the received data with respect to the distributed original data.
