PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine information that is difficult to determine only from a form included in a document image like an item type in an item definition information extraction system for automatically extracting item definition information from document image data.

SOLUTION: An object color determining part 2 extracts an image form by colors from color document image data inputted from an image input part 1. When the extracted image form is determined to be a color mark subjected to an object being an image unit constituting an item, a color type is outputted and an item definition information determination part 8 determines an item type included in item definition information on the basis of the color type of each object.
