PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly prevent reverse insertion of a terminal fitting. SOLUTION: A stabilizer 17 for reverse insertion prevention is erected and formed on one edge at a rear end of an upper surface of a main body part 11 of the male side terminal fitting 10. Tow pieces of projected lines 50 are formed by hammering in parallel in the cross direction on a rear end of a lower surface of the main body part 11. When the male side terminal fitting 10 is inserted in the upside-down attitude from a regular attitude, the male side terminal fitting 10 is lifted up as the projected line 50 provided on a surface on the opposite side of the stabilizer 17 hits a bottom wall 24B of an inlet of a cavity 24, and the stabilizer 17 is deeply hooked on a ceiling wall 24C of the inlet and hits in the middle of the insertion. Consequently, it is possible to certainly prevent the insertion of the male side terminal fitting 10 and detect that it is in the upside-down attitude. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
