CARTRIDGE FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION PROCESSOR EMPLOYING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both the shock resistance performance and the vibration resistance performance for a structure for shock-absorbingly supporting a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus.

SOLUTION: When configuring a cartridge 1 for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus, an elastic shock absorbing body 5 is placed on inner face of an upper cover 3 and a lower cover 4, a hard disk unit 6 is placed between the upper and lower elastic shock absorbing bodies 5 to form a freely removable box to a container part of a main body of an information processor, the upper cover 3 and the lower cover 4 close to and apart from each other by being depressed by the inner wall or the like of the container change a compressibility of the elastic shock absorbing body 5 to change support rigidity. Thus, employing the elastic shock absorbing body 5 made of a material with a lower hardness satisfies the shock resistance performance required in an inoperative state of the hard disk unit 6 and compressing the elastic shock absorbing body 5 in an operation state where the vibration resistance performance is required increases the apparent hardness to enhance the vibration resistance performance.
