PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase retrieval speed when pieces of data corresponding to inputted character strings are retrieved from a database having tri-structure. SOLUTION: This database retrieval device 102 for retrieving pieces of the data corresponding to the inputted character strings from the data base 101 having the tri-structure, is provided with a plurality of slave node searching parts (104, 105) for searching slave nodes according to the inputted character strings in the respective nodes with the tri-structure, a setting means for presetting slave node searching parts to be used in the respective nodes by every node among a plurality of the slave node searching parts (104, 105) and retrieves the data held in the database by searching for the slave nodes by using the slave node searching parts set by every nodes in the setting means.
