<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision of a gap size between a gate electrode and cold-cathode electron sources in a cold-cathode light emitting element, and also to suppress variation of the gap sizes. <P>SOLUTION: A back panel 2 has spacers 21 which consist of one or more ribs 21a, and a flat plate type gate electrode 20 for extracting electrons from CNT cathodes 5 is installed above the CNT cathodes 5 by fixing the gate electrode on the spacers 21. Since each rib 21a has the same width, the height of each rib 21a after a baking process of the ribs 21a, that is the height of the spacers 21 becomes uniform. Moreover, since the gate electrode 20 is the flat plate type, the variation of the gap sizes between the gate electrode 20 and the CNT cathodes 5 is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
