PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system for multiple dwelling houses that enable dwellers to surely switch set modes to each other by reflecting their intensions and to know calls received from formal visitors knowing nothing about identification numbers. SOLUTION: A collective entrance interphone 1 is provided with an inputting section 12 to which the house number of each dwelling house and the identification number peculiar to the interphone of each dwelling house are inputted. A plurality of interphones 2-1 to 2-n has holding sections 28 for holding their own house numbers 28a, identification numbers 28b and mode switching sections 29s which switch set modes including a normal mode 29a in which dwellers are allowed to speak with visitors, when the visitors call the dwellers by inputting the house numbers 28a of the dwellers and a collating mode 29b in which the dwellers are allowed to speak with visitors, when the visitors call the dwellers by inputting the identification numbers of the interphones of the dwellers. The interphones 2-1 to 2-n also have timers 30 and setting sections 22a. A control section 20 controls mode switching for canceling a set mode 27b during elapse of time-out set by means of the setting sections 22a has elapsed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
