PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a directivity beam switching receiver used for a WCDMA method mobile communication system or the like for detecting a moving direction of a user without providing a demodulator for received signals of all beams formed in advance in a switched beam antenna so as to reduce the number of demodulators and decrease the circuit scale.
SOLUTION: A plurality of antenna elements form a main beam toward a user terminal and a synchronization detection section 1-31 demodulates a received signal. A plurality of the antenna elements form two sub beams whose directions are slightly different from the direction of the main beam at both sides of the main beam, and synchronization detection sections 1-32, 1-33 demodulate respective received signals. Measurement sections 1-41, 1-42 respectively measure the reception quality of the two sub beams, the receiver discriminates a moving direction of a user on the basis of a result of measurement, and a weight control section 1-5 outputs a weight value used for forming the main beam and the sub beams in the direction of the user. Using reception power or a signal to interference power ratio measures the reception quality of the sub beams.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
