PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element and a luminous material for the light emitting element of which, the color of emitted light can be adjusted by shifting the wave length of the light of a luminous material. SOLUTION: The light emitting area of the organic light emitting element contains the luminous material and wave length shifting agent shifting the wave length of the light. The wave length of the light emitted from the luminous material is shifted by the wave length shifting agent.
