PURPOSE:To simplify a fluid pressure cylinder of rotary type and reduce its wear, by providing oblique cams on the contact surfaces of a rotary piston and slide pistons and connecting the fluid supply and discharge passages of opposite pressure chambers to each other. CONSTITUTION:One slide piston 11 is first moved leftward by a pressurized fluid supplied to one pressure chamber 9 through a supply and discharge passage 34 and a branch pipe 38, to stop keeping a rotary piston 7 from rotating. After that, the rotary piston 7 and a rotary piston rod 4 integrated therewith are turned by 90 deg. by oblique cam surfaces 31, 32 while the piston and the rod are guided by another slide piston 12. The pressurized fluid is then supplied through another supply and discharge passage 33 so that the slide pistons 11, 12 are returned to the original positions and the rotary piston 7 is turned by 90 deg. by oblique cam surface 29, 30. |
