<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an appropriate output device on an image processing terminal or an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: Each IOT (Image Output Terminal) is provided with maintenance information of whether or not a calibration has been performed, and operation information of the number of output sheets after performing the maintenance such as the calibration. The print server reads the maintenance information and the operation information at a prescribed timing, manages them as peculiar information including individual specificity of the IOT, and outputs the peculiar information of the IOT to the client terminal according to the request from the client terminal. This constitution can appropriately select the IOT not only on the print server but also on the client terminal and, for example, prevents from printing out documents using the IOT capable of printing a high picture quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
