PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio battery charger equipped with movable ribs at the bottom of a pocket for storing an object to be charged, capable of recharging a battery only by inserting a portable radio with a battery pack attached or a single battery pack into the pocket. SOLUTION: Charging terminals 14 and movable ribs 15 are provided at the bottom of a pocket 13 provided on the upper case 11. After a portable radio with a battery pack is inserted into the pocket 13, a battery charger 10 charges the battery with the movable rib 15 sinking and the battery pack brought into contact with the charging terminal 14. When the single battery pack is inserted into the pocket 13, the battery charger charges the battery with movable rib 15 not sinking and one end of the battery pack brought into contact with a side surface of the movable rib 15, thus preventing the battery pack from overturning.
