PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost of a coaxial cable in which external conductors are braided by eliminating a collapse of braiding of the cable and reducing a copper crested quantity and to decrease an outer diameter of the cable. SOLUTION: The coaxial cable comprises a central conductor 10, an insulating layer 12 coating on the conductor 10, and the external conductors 14 provided at an outside of the layer 12. In this cable, the conductor 14 is formed by braiding metal foil wires 18. As the wires 18, both side faces of the wire 18 are bulged to its outside in a roundness. An ellipticity [=(thickness÷width)×100%] of the wire 18 is set to 3 to 14%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
