<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit which is used for a back light module, advantageous to a thickness reduction of the back light module, and easily assembled and to provide the back light module. <P>SOLUTION: The light source 58 for the back light module is equipped with a wiring board 60 and a light emitting diode 70 which emits light in the emission direction of R in parallel with the wiring board 60. The light emitting diode 70 is equipped with lead terminals 71 and 72 which are each extended from points located halfway on its sides in the direction of D and connected to the mounting surface 65 of the wiring board 60. The light emitting diode 70 is mounted on the wiring board 60 so as to put the thickness D2 of the wiring board 60 within a range of its thickness D1. More concretely, the light emitting diode 70 is kept in a cutout 63 provided to one end face of the wiring board 60. An external connection terminal unit 61 is provided on the mounting surface 65, and a feeder terminal 41 on a mounting wring board 4 for an electronic apparatus is pressure-welded to the terminal unit 61. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
