PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of a terminal housing. SOLUTION: A jig 50 is provided with a left and right pair of guide plates at the tip faces of an insertion rod 52. On opposing faces of the guide plates 53, releasing parts 54 are formed along the top edge, and rest parts 57 along the bottom edge in the rear. The jig 50 is pushed in by putting in the guide plate 53 in grooves 34 at the left and right side of the terminal housing 23 from which a locking of a lance 29 is to be released and loading the both releasing parts 54 on the bottom face of left and right insertion spaces 27. On the way, the tips of the both rest parts 57 go into the underside of both ends of the terminal housing 23 to accept it, and afterwards, the terminal housing 23 is pushed in by the left and right releasing parts 54 and the rest part 57 in a state surrounded from all directions. Just after all sides of the terminal housing 23 is surrounded, thin parts 29B on either side of the lance 29 ride on tapered faces 55 of the left and right releasing parts 54 to be deformed in bending upward, so that it comes off upward from a locked concave part 16 to be released from locking.
