The machine for the production of nonwovens has a rotating cylinder (1) and a jet (2) to deliver a stream (3) of water at the cylinder. A serrated plate (4) is inserted between the jet and the cylinder, and between the two webs (5,7), to divide the water stream into a portion at the cylinder surface and a portion deflected by at least one channel downstream in the direction of cylinder rotation.
