PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that each of the amplifier gains for red, green and blue signals is regulated in order to obtain white-balanced red, green and blue signals, in an imaging apparatus equipped with CCD solid-state image sensing devices used for color image capturing, and therefore when the amplifier gains are increased, noise levels thereof are also amplified, generating different noise levels with regard to the red, green and blue signals, respectively. SOLUTION: When an image of one frame is captured with CCD solid-state image sensing devices for color image capturing capable of controlling readout of charges from pixels separately according to the colors of the pixels and further capable of electric shutter operation, the electronic shutter is operated intermittently and more than once, and then electric charges are selectively read out according to the pixel colors within the time period between one time of electric shutter operation and the next operation thereof.
