PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in the quality of an image read from a CCD due to fluctuation in a feed-through level. SOLUTION: A first inspection output signal IOS 1 not including a valid image signal is read from a CCD 10 at every imaging. A reference offset signal OTref is added to the first inspection output signal IOS 1 to produce a second inspection output signal IOS 2 and detect a feed-through level FL. The signal level of the reference offset signal OTref is corrected to have a reference feed- through level FLref to which a feed-through level FL is set to produce a correction offset signal OTr. Then the generated correction offset signal OTr is added to an image acquisition output signal POS including the valid image signal read from the CCD 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
