PURPOSE: A method and a structure are provided to allow for ease of operation of gas range, while reducing manufacturing costs and achieving improved efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A method allows for a selection between an automatic operation process performed by an input unit and a manual operation process performed by a rotating knob(13). The automatic operation process includes an ignition step, a strong flame step, a weak flame step, a turn-off step and an end display step. The manual operation process includes the first converting step of canceling the automatic operation process and cutting off power simultaneously with the rotation of the rotating knob; a gas supply step of supplying gas from a gas cock in accordance with the rotation of the rotating knob; an ignition step performed upon supply of gas; a cooking step where the flame is controlled by the rotating knob; a turn-off step performed by the reverse rotation of the rotating knob; and the second converting step of supplying a power to the automatic operation process simultaneously with the turn-off operation.
