The plant waterer, comprising a head, an intermediate housing and a diffuser forming a water reservoir, has a cut-out for the incoming water when the pressure in the feed pipe is below a set level. The cutout consists of a spring-loaded ball (14) that blocks an inlet orifice (16), the spring (13) being compressed against a stop (15). The ball is made from a supple material such as an elastomer so it can act as a cut-out and pressure element.
