PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric electronic component such as dielectric filters or dielectric duplexers, etc., with its input-output coupling quantity being adjustable, and a method of adjusting the coupling quantity of the dielectric electronic component. SOLUTION: The dielectric filter 1 has coupling quantity adjusting spot facings 9, 10 bored into open ends 5b, 6b of exciting holes 5, 6, thereby increasing the input-output coupling of the dielectric filter 1. The depth h or the diameter or the shape of the coupling quantity adjusting facings 9, 10 may be changed to adjust the input-output coupling quantity. The input-output coupling quantity can be also increased by forming coupling quantity adjusting stepped faces 9, 10 provided with the open ends 5b, 6b of the exciting holes 5, 6, lower by specified steps from short-circuit end faces 22 of resonators 3, 4, on the downside 16 of a dielectric ceramic block 2. The step z of the coupling quantity adjusting stepped faces 9, 10 or the area of stepped faces 23, 24 may be changed to adjust the input-output coupling quantity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
