PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor having low ESR characteristics. SOLUTION: Since an electrode foil where aggregate of micro particles of aluminum or aluminum oxide becoming self-similar in the length range of 2μm-0.2μm is adhering to one side or both sides of a smooth aluminum foil is wound together with a separator and solid electrolyte of conductive polymer is held by the separator in a solid electrolytic capacitor employing conductive polymer, resistive component of the electrode foil decreases and resistive component of the electrolyte between the electrode foils also decreases. Furthermore, contact resistance at the joint of the electrode foil and the electrode lead-out terminal also decreases and thereby a solid electrolytic capacitor having low ESR characteristics can be obtained.
