PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor having a scanner inspecting function. SOLUTION: In inspection of a scanner 1, the scanner 1 is operated to read a Munsell copy having the same density approximately over its entire surface. Image data obtained by reading the Munsell copy are inputted to a density uniformity deciding unit 33 through a shading correcting processor 31. Based on the image data inputted from the processor 31, the density uniformity deciding unit 33 calculates the mean values of image data of all pixels involved in a plurality of predetermined regions under test on the Munsell copy respectively over the individual regions. It calculates the differences of the image data mean values between the regions under test, and, if a maximum value of the calculated differences is greater than a predetermined criterion value G, decides that the image data after the shading correction process has a read density nonuniformity.
