PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a disk cartridge from a cartridge ejection position to a recording/reproducing position by a mechanism simpler than a conventional mechanism in a disk cartridge loading device. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge loading device is provided with a pinion 72 rotary-driven by a motor, and a sliding member 2 in which a rack 24 is formed to be engaged with the pinion 72, and the rack 24 has a linear part 25 elongated on a straight line and a circular-arc part 26 elongated on a circular-arc line. The pinion 72 is engaged with the linear part 25 toe reciprocate the sliding member 2, whereby a disk cartridge is reciprocated between a cartridge ejection position and a cartridge pulling-in position. The pinion 72 is engaged with circular-arc part 26 of the rack 24 to rotate the sliding member 2, whereby the disk cartridge is reciprocated between the cartridge pull-in position and a recording/reproducing position.
