PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a present position during the seek by fully utilizing the resolution of an analog/digital converter in a seek control method for an optical storage device for applying a seek operation to a light beam to an object track of an optical storage medium. SOLUTION: The seek control method includes: a step of calculating a target position; a step of detecting a present position on the basis of a track error signal indicative of a relative position between the light beam and a track; a step of calculating a feedback control variable so as to make an error between the target position and the present position zero; and a step of controlling a light beam moving mechanism on the basis of the feedback control variable, and corrects a conversion output on the basis of an output of the analog/digital converter for converting the track error signal and a position of the light beam from the track.
