Seeds (G) are placed in a receptacle tray (11) which has a lid (12) with holes (13). A box (20) with orifices (22,23) is fitted over the receptacle tray such that the orifices abut the receptacle holes. The combined receptacle and box are rotated by a motor (16) and a vacuum applied to the box through an entry (24).
