PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for color matching, which realize correction of a color conversion table for improving the color matching precision, by a certain routine work. SOLUTION: The color matching method for conversion between a signal value to be given to a device and a colorimetric value of an output result from the device comprises a step for using a correspondence table between signal values and colorimetric values for conversion, namely, a conversion table to output a reference color from a specific device, a step for quantizing the deviation from the reference color of an output result, and a step for correcting the conversion table in accordance with an extent of correction unequivocally determined by the quantized deviation.
