PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital image storing and forming device capable of parallelly operating a plurality of functions by effectively utilizing a storage device being a shared resource for a large amount of image data processed by a digital copying machine, etc. SOLUTION: This digital image storing and forming device is provided with an inputting means 2 for image information, a digitizing means 3 for digitizing inputted image information, a primary storing means 4 for storing digital image data, a secondary storing means 5 having larger capacity than that of the primary storing means, a summarizing device 6 for summarizing a plurality of pieces of digital image data into one piece of digital image data, and an image forming means 7. The digital image storing and forming device can effectively utilize the storage device being a shared resource to parallelly operate the plurality of functions by controlling transfer from the primary storing means 4 to the secondary storing means 5 and transfer from the secondary storing means 5 to the primary storing means 4 so as to divide one image into a plurality of blocks and to transfer the plurality of blocks.
