PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device such as a portable telephone or the like which can clean a contamination in a display unit without opening or closing the display unit. SOLUTION: A display side cabinet 11 of the portable telephone comprises a cleaning bar 15 for cleaning the display unit 14 by moving while the bar comes into pressure contact with the display unit 14, an elastic element 22 for holding the bar 15, and a cleaning bar holding pawl 35 which holds the bar in a state in which the element 22 has a restoring force and which can release the holding state. When the bar 15 is moved at one way to be held by the pawl 35, the bar 15 is returned by the restoring force of the element 22 if the holding state of the pawl 35 is released by pressing a cleaning button 33 in the case of next cleaning.
