PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home appliance networking system and a method for controlling the same wherein when a new home appliance is connected to the system, an active home appliance A and a network management means M can simply grasp the connection. SOLUTION: The home appliance networking system comprises: passive home appliances P for transmitting and receiving data to/from an internal network built up for the home networking and for being controlled according to control commands received over the network; active home appliances A for transmitting the control commands for the passive home appliances P to the internal network; and a network manager M for managing the internal network and also controlling a data flow, and the active home appliances A and the network manager M store information associated with a plurality of the passive home appliances P connected to the internal network.
