PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system configuring a single frequency network suitable for use in a comparatively narrow area and to provide a repeater. SOLUTION: The single frequency network system has one transmission antenna and a plurality of reception antennas. The reception antennas comprise repeaters 10a to 10d capable of adaptive array processing and a plurality of user terminals 20a, 20b. Before start of communication, the repeaters and each communication apparatus of the user terminals acquire information representative of ease of communication with other communication apparatuses. Then each repeater informs the other communication apparatuses about the information representative of ease of communication so as to share the information. A central station being one of the repeaters informs each relay station about the weight information of the adaptive array to be used so that the communication is correctly performed in response to a communication request from the user terminal on the basis of the information representative of ease of the communication.
