PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate easy determination of a terminal fitting to be extracted. SOLUTION: A relief slot 58 for a tab 12 of a male terminal fitting 10 is formed in this tool 50 in addition to a release part 54, and its deep surface is used as a pressing surface 59. When the tool 50 is inserted from the front side, a lance 29 is flexibly deformed upward by the release part 54 and its lock is unlocked. During that time, the tab 12 enters into the relief slot 58 and abuts on the pressing surface 59, and a stopper surface 57 is still retreated in front of a terminal housing part 23. When the tool 50 is further inserted, the pressing surface 59 plunges the tip of the tab 12, the terminal fitting 10 is pushed back to the rear side in a cavity 21 with the lance 29 kept in the unlocked state, and the stopper surface 57 abuts on the housing part 23 to stop the tool 50. By pushing back the terminal fitting 10, a waterproof rubber plug at the rear end projects rearward from the entrance of the cavity 21, and the projection thereof is used as a mark of the terminal fitting 10 to be extracted.
