PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-blast circuit breaker in which stale higher breaking performance can be obtained by preventing insulation deterioration and corrosion of a metallic material as a result of the occurrence of moisture caused by a discharged gas of a polymer. SOLUTION: The gas-blast circuit breaker has a movable contactor 1 and an opposing contactor 2 which are arranged opposingly inside an enclosed vessel to which an arc-extinguishing gas is filled. It also has a puffer cylinder 28 and a fixed piston 33a which extinguish an arc to be generated at an arc space between both contactors, a thermal pressure-raising chamber 31 which raises pressure by a hot gas to be heated and guided by arc energy in the arc space, and an attachment part 50 which generates the discharged gas to be mixed with the arc-extinguishing gas when heated by the hot gas. The attachment part 50 is constituted of the polymer in which oxygen is not contained in its chemical composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
