PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make adaptable even to the version upgrade of an XML processor while storing an XML document in object format. SOLUTION: An XML document database operation part 12 stores, when registering an XML document, XML processor version information 131 showing the present version of the XML processor as information of XML processor version in storage 142 with an XML document 143 of object format and an XML document 144 of text format to an XML document database 14. When reading an XML document, the XML processor version information 131 is compared with the information 142 to decide the necessity of version upgrade of the XML processor, and when the version upgrade is necessary, the text format XML document 144 is read in.
