PURPOSE: A method for managing a time between MPs(Main Processors) of a switch is provided to synchronize the time between the MPs of the switch by calculating a delay time generated in an IPC(Inter Processor Communication) and compensating the time by the corresponding delay time. CONSTITUTION: If a TDM(Time of Data Management) client stores a time requested to a TDM server and transmits a signal to the TDM server(S71), the TDM server receives the signal and stores a time in which the time request from the TDM client is received(S72). The TDM server calculates a reference time in which signal information is transmitted to an MPi(S73). The TDM server loads the reference time in signal information, and transmits signal information to the MPi(S74). The MPi stores a time in which signal information is received(S75). The TDM server confirms whether the difference of the time in which signal information is transmitted to the MPi and the time in which signal information is received in the MPi is within a period(TMR2)(S76). If the difference is within the period(TMR2), the TDM server calculates a delay time and compensates the time by the calculated delay time(S77).
