<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell and its manufacturing method by which high conversion efficiency can be realized by using silicon crystals growing on a substrate that is low in cost like a metallic silicon substrate made of metallic silicon and includes a large quantity of impurities. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polycrystal silicon solar cell includes a step for forming on the metallic silicon substrate a gettering layer of 0.01 atomic % or more including at least one kind of gettering element that is selected among phosphorus, boron, germanium, and tin, a step for forming an active layer thereon, and a step for forming a surface doped layer in the surfacial part of the active layer or thereon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
