A drawer runner comprises at least two profiles 766 and 768 movable in relation to one another to extend or retract the runner, a bearing carriage 764 between the profiles, and a means for geared engagement 750 between the carriage and at least one of the profiles or a structure in relation to which the profile is fixed. The bearing means 762 may be wheels or ball bearings and the geared engagement means may be a rack 754 and pinion 750 with at least one pinion associated with the carriage and at least one rack (264, 268, 260, 272 figure 65) meshed with the pinion and associated with the profile or the structure; and where the rack and pinion may punched or cut from plate material. The pinion may also transmit the drawer weight loads directly between the profiles and alternatively may do so without the use of bearings. Further embodiments included a drawer runner with profiles defining first and second flanges, a drawer stabilisation system, a drawer operating system and a speed control system for a drawer, which may comprise an extensible strut. |
