The security device (7) for a pivoting locking catch (3) of a roll up door (2) comprises a casing (8) fixed on the exterior face of the metal section (6) having an opening (5) in which the catch is engaged. A locking mechanism is integrated in the casing and activated by a flap (15). The flap can be displaced between a retracted position where the flap is withdrawn from the opening and a position where the flap seals the opening preventing any pivoting movement of the locking catch when the door is closed.
