A clamping system for secure sealing of a container has a lid (2) with shaped rim fitted onto the rolled lip (4) of the container and secured using spring clips (3). The clips have two arms at less than 90 deg, and with shaped grips at the free ends. The clips are made of spring steel, plastic or of any other suitable material and are fastened and released without using any special tools.
