A tapping switch with its own oil vessel and an oil expansion vessel joined to the oil vessel. The oil expansion vessel (5) is partly filled with insulating oil located within the tapping switch (2) oil vessel, and a gas cushion is provided, separated by the oil level (6) in the oil expansion vessel (5).
