A light fixture (<bold>10</highlight>) is disclosed which includes junction box (<bold>11</highlight>), an annular mounting plate, a canopy (<bold>21</highlight>), a collar loop (<bold>23</highlight>), a collar nut (<bold>25</highlight>) and a light assembly (<bold>34</highlight>) which includes a length of electric cord (<bold>41</highlight>). The canopy (<bold>21</highlight>) includes an outer shell (<bold>29</highlight>) and central winding spool (<bold>30</highlight>) which is mounted concentrically within the canopy outer shell (<bold>29</highlight>) and concentrically about a mounting opening (<bold>22</highlight>) within the canopy (<bold>21</highlight>). The central winding spool (<bold>30</highlight>) has a generally cylindrical central portion (<bold>31</highlight>) and an annular flange portion (<bold>32</highlight>) extending from the top of the central portion (<bold>31</highlight>). The slack portion of the electric cord (<bold>41</highlight>) may be wound about the winding spool (<bold>30</highlight>) in order to stow it in a safe and efficient manner.
