摘要 The invention concerns a method which consists in pre-bending a metal plate along at least two longitudinal edges (<bold>12</highlight>-<bold>13</highlight>) then in bending said plate along at least one edge (<bold>12</highlight>-<bold>13</highlight>) using a bending member (<bold>103</highlight>-<bold>104</highlight>) by exerting, during the bending process (F<subscript>1</highlight>, F<subscript>3</highlight>), a clamping force (F<subscript>7</highlight>, F<subscript>8</highlight>) of part (<bold>23, 24</highlight>) of the plate relative to the bending member (<bold>103, 104</highlight>). Said clamping force (F<subscript>7</highlight>, F<subscript>8</highlight>) can be globally oriented towards the edge (<bold>12, 13</highlight>). The installation comprises at least a member for bending (<bold>103</highlight>-<bold>104</highlight>) the metal plate along a longitudinal edge (<bold>12</highlight>-<bold>13</highlight>) of a tubular section of the frame. The bending member (<bold>103</highlight>-<bold>104</highlight>) is equipped with means (<bold>103</highlight><italic>f</highlight>-<bold>104</highlight><italic>f</highlight>) for exerting on a part (<bold>23, 24</highlight>) of the plate a clamping force (F<subscript>7</highlight>, F<subscript>8</highlight>) countering the sliding of part (<bold>23, 24</highlight>) of the plate along the bending member (<bold>103, 104</highlight>). The bending member is articulated about a virtual geometrical axis (a, c) located inside the corresponding tubular section of the component to be produced.
